This is a charming, inventive and intelligent use of playful poetry and folk style music to introduce children, not only to the alphabet, but how to employ imagination to construct language. Every young child at home, and every pre-school should have this album. It offers an opportunity to advance linguistic development. It would also be useful in bilingual education. I'm a grandmother and my grandchildren adore this album. I'm also a person who has worked with underserved children for years., many representing other cultures. I know what works and for $5.99 this is a powerful tool at a fantastic price.

The rhymes are so relevant to a child's everyday life - having a babysitter, taking a bath, learning about night and daytime, etc. And the author sneaks in wonderfully unique vocabulary words that catch a child's attention while increasing their own vocabulary. Each rhyme is fun and quick to read so very easy to insert before a bedtime story. Fun, yet educational for both children and adults.

My son 8 and daughter 4 absolutely LOVE Garden of Verses. Not only does it celebrate the wonderful world of rhyming but the vocabulary exposure is superb. The verses also spotlight questions kids have in a delightful way. One of our favorites!
