Who invented the knot? Who invented the bow?
How did shoes stay on before laces or Velcro?
Who thought of having a button pass through a fabric slit?
And why do theater’s musicians sit in an orchestra pit?
Who was the first one to think of putting enamel on their nails?
And who was the genius that invented lids for smelly garbage pails?
We take some things for granted, to us they are mundane.
But whoever invented these things had a very strong left-brain.
The left side of your brain controls logicand communications,
Like the person who figured out that cars needed a chain of gas stations.
To those who see a problem and seek to find an answer,
From socks that don’t stay up; to finding a cure for cancer.
We salute you left-brain thinkers for without you we’d be without.
Your contribution makes life easier, we have not a speck of doubt.
