When I’m told not to interrupt,
Because probing candisrupt.
It feels like a speaking diet,
I hate being told to be quiet.
I’m told that if I yearn,
To uncover and to learn,
I have to listen to the end,
In order to truly comprehend.
In the middle of someone explaining
There is no use complaining.
Just listen until they’ve completed
I know it’s hard to be still and seated.
Then if something is not clear,
That’s the time for the speaker to hear.
Patience pays in manner ways,
In fact no doubt they’ll be a day,
You’ll be glad that you heard,
That info because it stirred,
Your interest in that sort of knowledge.
It might be your major when you go to college.
And all because you didn’t squawk,
And preferred to listen instead of talk.
